“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Eph. 5:19-20

Music – Make a Joyful Noise!

Music is a vital part of worship and the total ministry of Stanton Reformed Church. We believe music is a gift from God that is used to glorify God, uplift the worshipper, and give expression to our faith. We don’t consider the music included in worship to be a “performance”, but rather a gift given to honor God with our gratitude for God’s gifts to us. Music calls us to worship, leads us in praise and prayer, and sends us out into the world challenged and strengthened for service.

Most weeks, our worship is enriched by the members of the Sanctuary Choir. Choir is a fun, relaxed experience and an opportunity for deep and meaningful community. We rehearse on Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:30PM, and sing most Sunday mornings throughout the fall, winter, and spring. You’re welcome to join the choir at any time! Our children’s choir performs several times per year and is open to singers ages 3 and up.

We have opportunities throughout the year to participate in bell choir and other instrumental groups. If you play an instrument, please reach out – we love finding new ways for our members to make and share in our joyful noise!

To find out more about how you can join this ministry, please contact Megan Petrushun, Director of Music Ministry, at mpetrushun@aol.com.

Art – Bringing New Perspectives to the Worship Experience

Our sanctuary is regularly adorned with banners and artistic installations that reflect themes in our liturgical calendar. These installations add to the worship experience, and often help us to see and feel the gospel afresh. If you have a flair for art and decor, or just love to sew or craft, this is a wonderful way to express your gifts! We are also always open to artists, writers, and those interested in drama and dance who would like to share their gifts in worship.

If you have a gift you’d like to share, please reach out to our Worship Committee through our church office – stantonchurch@gmail.com.
